The US President is frustrated with Iran
“The clock is ticking.” With these words the US President Donald Trump sent a warning to Iran. “They better get moving, fast, or there won’t be anything left of them. Time is of the essence,” the president wrote in a Truth social post.
Sunday, May 17th, President Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the president’s visit to China and the development with Teheran.
The closing of the Strait of Hormuz, with all the consequences that we could see on a global scale, and the rejection of Trump’s request to Iran to give up nuclear weapons aspirations might force the US to consider another strike on Iran.
Meanwhile, a drone, on Sunday, struck a fire on the edge of the United Arab Emirates’ Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. Located in the southwest of the city of Al Dhannah, and west of Abu Dhabi, this plant is the UAE’s only power plant producing 25% of the country’s electricity. The UAE’s defense ministry said the drone that targeted the plant was one of three that “entered the country from the western border direction.”
It was an “unprovoked terrorist attack,” according to the authorities, and it had no reported injuries or radiological emission in the environment. “The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) confirmed that the fire did not affect the safety of the power plant or the readiness of its essential systems, and that all units are operating as normal,” the Abu Dhabi Media Office said.
As reported by Axios, President Trump met national security advisers on Saturday, May 16th, at his golf course in Virginia, and he is scheduled to meet his national security team on Tuesday, May 19th, to evaluate some options.
